Balls of the Corps!
3rd Battalion 1st Marines (3/1) is an infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps based out of Camp Horno on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Nicknamed the "Thundering Third", the battalion consists of approximately 1220 Marines and Sailors and falls under the command of the 1st Marine Regiment and the 1st Marine Division.
The 3/1 has one of the most intense mottos in the USMC: The Balls of the Corps.
On October 4, 2005, the 2nd Marine Division launched Operation Bawwabatu Annaher (River Gate) in the cities of Haditha, Haqlaniyah and Barwana. Approximately 2,500 Marines, Soldiers and Sailors from Regimental Combat Team - 2 and Iraqi Security Force soldiers participated in the operation, making it the largest operation in the Al Anbar province in 2005. The operation's goal was to deny Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) the ability to operate in the three Euphrates River Valley cities and to free the local citizens from the insurgents' campaign of murder and intimidation of innocent women, children and men.
In April 2010, 3/1 deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The battalion conducted combat operations in the area, including activity in Koshtay and Safar in Garmsir District, and returned to Camp Pendleton in November 2010.
We'll engrave the battalion graphic on one side of the mug. You have the option to add the American Flag, the same battalion graphic, or custom text to the second side for an additional $5.
We're working to get permission to engrave the Marine Corps logo and EGA on our mugs. As soon as the paperwork goes through, we'll offer those graphics as well.
